| Pre-race
Transportation |
|
Shuttle transportation will be provided from Newman High School to
the start at Music Man Square. First bus will depart at 6:45 am and
the last bus will depart at 7:30 am. (Transportation will not be provided
back to the start at the end of the race). |
| Start |
| The
Marathon will start at 8 am just outside Music Man Square on Second
Street SE. Each runner will receive a personal property bag with
their race material for their warm-ups, etc. that will be taken to
the finish. |
| Water
Stations |
| Water
stations will be every 2 miles throughout the race course. Each water
station will be stocked with Culligan and Power Aid. Gu energy packets
will be available at miles 12, 18 & 22. Porta-Potties will be
located at mile 1, 13 & 20. |
| Course |
| The
marathon course passes through various parts of Mason City and out
into to the surrounding countryside. It will run past many historic
sites including Meredith Wilson (the Music Man) boyhood home. A
Frank Lloyd Wright designed home in a historic district of Prairie
School architecture. To the original site where Mason City began.
It covers a variety of surfaces including, concrete streets, asphalt
roads, paved trails, gravel country roads and un-paved nature trails.

| Finish
Line |
| The
marathon will finish at Newman High School located on the corner of
19th Street SW and Taft Avenue. Showers and towels will be available
for the runners along with post-race refreshments and heat blankets. |
| Awards |
| All
finishers will receive a medal. An award will be presented to
the overall male finisher and the overall female finisher. Trophies
for first place male & female in each age group.
There will be
no finisher t-shirts, participants will receive a shirt at registration.
Participants registering after September 28, 2007 will not be guaranteed
a t-shirt or size.
An award's ceremony
will take place in the Newman High School Gym. Awards ceremony for
5K and 10K is at 11:30am. Awards ceremony for Half and Marathon
is at 1:00 pm. |

Treatments |
| Qualified
medical personnel will be on hand for first aid needs throughout the
marathon. |
